The Jukun ( Njikum ) or more precisely Jukun Takum is a jukunoid language of Cameroon , which is used as a commercial language in Nigeria .
Although there are only a few native speakers of the language with 2,500 speakers in Cameroon and a few dozen in Nigeria (as of 2000), the Jukun Takum is used as a second language by tens of thousands in Nigeria (40,000 in 1979) .
The name Jukun is an umbrella term for several related jukunoid languages, such as the much more speaker- friendly Jukun Wapan .
