Jules Strauss

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Jules Strauss (* in the 19th century; † 1909 ) was a French composer and arranger.

His printed compositions include songs ( chansonettes ) and quadrilles . He orchestrated works by Alexandre Brody , Francis Chassaigne (1847–1922) and Albert Petit († 1929) for orchestra. For some piano arrangements, for example quadrilles based on motifs by Jacques Offenbach , which appeared under the name of Strauss , it is not possible to decide on the basis of the prints and library catalog entries whether they are by Jules or Isaac Strauss (1806–1888).
