Julia Flesher Koch (* 1962 or 1963 in Iowa ) is the widow of David H. Koch and rose to the top 3 richest women after his death .

Life

Koch was born in rural Iowa and didn't come to New York until the late 1980s . There she worked for some time as the assistant to the fashion designer Adolfo. Koch gained access to the city's high society; in the early 1990s, for example, she was photographed at events such as the Costume Institute charity gala in the Metropolitan Museum

She met her future husband on a blind date in 1991. After an initial rejection, they met again 6 months later and came together.

In 1993 she stopped working and devoted herself entirely to married life. In 1996, the 33-year-old married billionaire David H. Koch, 23 years her senior. They had three children.

In addition to married life, she took care of the David H. Koch Foundation. She is president there.
