Projects (selection)

DDB Worldwide advertising agency Berlin

Together with the architectural group raum317 , Juliane Zach worked on the interior design of the Berlin branch of the advertising agency DDB Worldwide in the Neue Schönhauser Strasse between 2000 and 2001 . With a simple and innovative interior, a modern working atmosphere was created on three floors. The rooms can be used flexibly and can be expanded on the other floors of the building as required. At the reception, amorphous seating elements covered with gray felt characterize the room. These were designed on the one hand for waiting customers, on the other hand they invite employees to meet, communicate and linger. The seating elements, as well as the felt cover of the sliding doors of the shelving system, create pleasant acoustics in the open space. The tea kitchens were treated as meeting places that can also function as an extension of the workplace. With the use of the floor coverings as a worktop and the inclusion of the gray table color as the floor, the tea kitchens take up the materiality of the office area. Apparently floating in the room, the kitchen overhead cupboards in the two-storey connecting rooms were suspended with wire ropes. Other kitchenettes are designed as built-in furniture. They can be pulled out of the shelving system like a sliding element and can be made to disappear again in seconds. The glass box placed in the room, the meeting room - the think tank - zoning the large office areas. Movable glass slats partially form the walls that enclose the steel construction and enable individual, mechanical regulation of affiliation with the surrounding large area.

McKinsey & Company Berlin

In 2003, Juliane Zach worked with Klaus Lehnert on a new design concept for the reception and cafeteria of the management consultancy McKinsey & Company on Kurfürstendamm in Berlin-Charlottenburg. The two areas form the heart of the office floor. This is where employees meet for coffee breaks and creative discussions, but customers are also received and representative events are held. The cafeteria and reception not only shape everyday office life, but also the corporate image. Warm colors and a clear design language characterize the room.
