Julie Hyzy

Julie A. Hyzy (* 1959 in Chicago , Illinois ) is an American writer .

Life

Julie Hyzy grew up in the Little Village neighborhood of Chicago. After 16 years of Catholic schooling, she began studying economics at Loyola University Chicago , which she completed with a bachelor's degree in business administration . She then found work in a small architecture firm, a health management company and a regional bank.

With the novel Deadly Blessings , Hyzy debuted as a writer in 2005. After the then First Lady of the United States Laura Bush hired Cristeta Comerford, the first female head chef in the history of the White House , in 2005, Hyzy began a new series of mystery books with the character of Ollie Paras, which was first published in 2008 with State of the Onion found. A year later she was awarded the Anthony Award for Best Paperback and the Barry Award for Best Paperback .

Hyzy lives in Tinley Park with her husband and their three daughters .
