Julia Gippenreiter ( Russian : Ю́лия Бори́совна Гиппенре́йтер; born March 25, 1930 in Moscow ) is a Russian psychologist and expert in experimental psychology ( perceptual psychology , psychophysiology ), systemic therapy , neuro-linguistic programming . Gippenreiter is the author of numerous psychological publications, doctor of education (in psychology), doctor of psychology, professor.

Life

Julia Gippenreiter graduated from Moscow State University with a degree in psychology in 1953. In 1961, she received her doctorate in psychology for a doctorate in pedagogy on the subject of pitch perception . In 1975 she received her doctorate in psychology with a thesis on the role of movements in a person's life at Moscow State University in the field of "General Psychology, Psychology of Personality, History of Psychology". In 1978 she was awarded the academic title of professor. She is a professor of general psychology at Moscow State University (as of 2010).

Gippenreiter strongly propagates a humanistic approach to education. In this context, she emphasizes “active listening” in family relationships.

Her work Talking to Children - Understanding Each Other was first published in Russian in 1995 and is one of the bestsellers in the field of education in Russia. In her book, the author conveys the most important factors of modern psychology in a simple and accessible way and summarizes scientific findings in the field of communication. Gippenreiter has published over 75 scientific papers.

Julia Gippenreiter was married twice and has three children, two older daughters from her first marriage to Vadim Gippenreiter and a son from her second marriage to the mathematician Aleksej Rudakow.
