Junbi Undo

Junbi-Undo (Kor. 준비 운동; Japanese 準備 運動) is an old system of warm-ups ( warm -up exercises ). As required by modern sports education , the exercises begin at the foot and end at the head. Supported by conscious breathing , better / greater mobility is achieved at the same time. In addition, the interior of the trunk heats up due to the breathing movements of the lungs .

This technique was developed by Miyagi Chōjun after he had researched the functioning of the human body together with medical professionals. The Junbi-Undo of Gōjū-Ryū are more than simple warm-up exercises, they support the development of a robust body and promote health. The purpose of self-defense is not just to ward off an opponent, but also to maintain one's own activity and physical and mental fitness throughout one's life.

The exercises of the Junbi-Undo-Dai-Ichi support the loosening of the joints, promote the mobility of the fighting movements. They gradually increase the heart rate and are specially designed for karate techniques. The different methods promote blood circulation, regulate breathing, massage the internal organs and strengthen the immune system. In detail, the exercises involve the areas of the foot, ankle, knee, hips, spine (trunk), shoulder / elbow and neck.
