The Juneau Police Department (JPD) is a law enforcement agency for the city of Juneau , Alaska .

The authority consists of two departments: the administration and the executive department. These departments are divided into five units: patrol duty, crime investigation, public relations, residents services and the operations control center. There is also a SWAT team , a bombing and a kidnapping unit.

The chief of police is Chief Greg Browning.

In April 2008, the police department revised the practice of not registering rape as a sex crime .

In July 2008 there was an increase in robberies .

The non-profit Juneau Crime Line is offering rewards for anonymous tips to the police.
