development

Local election 2009

Only three months after it was founded, Junge Duisburg ran in the local elections on August 30, 2009 . Although the electoral group was only able to put up its own candidate in 22 of the 37 electoral districts at the time due to the shortness of the time, it achieved such a good result with 1,858 votes (1.12%) that Stephan Wedding (then: Krebs) in could call in the city council.

Young Duisburg also ran in two of the seven city districts in the elections for the district representation, but did not receive the necessary votes for a mandate there (Duisburg-Mitte 590 votes / 1.61%; Duisburg-Süd 783 votes / 2.37%).

JUDU formed with DAL (councilor Rainer Grün) and SGU (councilor Karlheinz Hagenbuck) the council group of Duisburg voter communities ( DWG for short ).

Young Duisburg provided a total of five members, four deputy members, three knowledgeable residents and two deputy skilled residents in nine council bodies (Main and Finance Committee / Audit Committee / Committee for Economy, Urban Development and Transport / Culture Committee / School Committee / Environment Committee / Youth Welfare Committee / Property Management Works Committee Duisburg / Works Committee Duisburg Sport).

Local election 2014

In the local elections on May 25, 2014 , Junge Duisburg ran in all of the now only 36 electoral districts in Duisburg and, with 3,030 votes (2.08%), was the only one of the parties or groups of voters represented in the council to date that increased the number of their absolute votes could. With Stephan Wedding (then: Krebs) and Oliver Beltermann, two JUDU councilors are now represented in the city council.

Young Duisburg also competed in the elections for the district representatives in all seven city districts, but only achieved enough votes for a mandate held by Frederik Engeln in Duisburg-Süd - there, however, clearly - with 1256 votes (4.31%) . Moving into the other district representations (Duisburg-Hamborn 188 votes / 1.28%; Duisburg-Homberg / Ruhrort / Baerl 218 votes / 1.68%; Duisburg-Meiderich / Beeck 249 votes / 1.60%; Duisburg-Rheinhausen 307 Votes / 1.22%; Duisburg-Walsum 315 votes / 2.23%) young Duisburg missed, in Duisburg-Mitte (934 votes / 2.76%) however by just eight votes.

Together with the electoral alliance DAL (councilor Rainer Grün), Young Duisburg forms the joint council group Young Duisburg / DAL . The office is located near the town hall on Kuhlenwall street in house number 12. Dirk Sodenkamp is the chief professional group manager.

Young Duisburg is represented by nine members, 13 deputy members, one knowledgeable resident and one deputy knowledgeable resident in twelve council committees (Main and Finance Committee / Audit Committee / Youth Welfare Committee / Culture Committee / Committee on Economy, Urban Development and Transport / Personnel and Administrative Committee / Environment Committee / Works Committee Duisburg Sport / Works Committee for Real Estate Management Duisburg / Election Review Committee / Seniors Advisory Board / Integration Council).

Mayor election 2017

For the mayoral election on September 24, 2017, Junge Duisburg, together with the CDU, Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen and the Bürgerlich-Liberale community of voters, nominated Gerhard Meyer as a candidate for mayor who, with only 25.73%, was not against SPD incumbent Sören Link, who received 56.88% of the vote in the first ballot.

organization

The highest organ is the party congress, which is held as an assembly of all members. Its tasks include, among other things, the election of the district executive, which consists of the chairman, two deputies, a treasurer, a secretary and four assessors and is elected for a period of two years.

For members over the age of 40 there is the Young Duisburg 40plus working group within the electoral alliance (short: AG JUDU 40plus ).

The statutes provide for the possibility of founding local associations analogous to the seven city districts, but these have not yet been established. However, there are working groups for the north (Walsum, Hamborn, Meiderich / Beeck districts), the center, the south and the west (Homberg / Ruhrort / Baerl and Rheinhausen districts).

There are friendly contacts with the Young Soest electoral alliance, which is represented as its own parliamentary group with 4.52% of the votes in the last local election with two seats in the Soest City Council.
