Juno is a German home appliance brand and has been part of the Electrolux Group's brand portfolio since 1990 .

history

The Juno brand was registered in March 1899 by Burger Eisenwerke GmbH (later Burger Eisenwerk AG), Herborn. From 1963 the inventor and entrepreneur Werner Sell became managing director and later a member of the board. He concentrated his work on the development of energy-saving stoves for private households, but also for professional use in gastronomy, including the convection oven and combi steamer. The large kitchens on the Paris Eiffel Tower and in the Berlin Reichstag were equipped with this technology. In 1958, Burger Eisenwerk AG - and with it the Juno brand - was taken over by Buderus and in 1990 by the Swedish household appliance manufacturer Electrolux.

technology

Overall, technologies were developed under the Juno brand that changed the way of cooking in the catering trade as well as in German private households. In 1889 they developed the first German coal stove , which was then replaced by the gas stove in 1927 . The first electric stove followed in 1937 . However, all of these devices were primarily intended for the household, which is why Juno manufactured the first convection oven for the catering industry in 1957. In 1973 the device followed for the private household. Another achievement was the first pressureless steam cooker in 1987.

Products

Since 1990, not only cookers and ovens have been sold under the brand name Juno, but also hobs, extractor hoods, dishwashers, refrigerators and compact appliances. While the combination steam oven has been part of the Electrolux brand AEG since 2015, the Juno range now offers an oven with steam assistance.

brand

After the takeover by the Electrolux Group in 1990, the brand name Juno was combined with the company name Electrolux and continued under Juno-Electrolux. Since the end of 2014, Juno has been continued under the sole brand name Juno as a series of appliances in the kitchen furniture trade.
