Yuri Leonidowitsch Shevchenko ( Russian Юрий Леонидович Шевченко ; born April 4, 1947 in Jakutsk ) is a Russian politician and doctor .
Life
Shevchenko studied medicine. He was a member of the St. Petersburg Connection . From 1999 to 2004 he was Minister of Health of Russia for five years. In 2012 he got into a legal dispute with Vladimir Gundjajew in Moscow. Gundjaev successfully sued Shevchenko in court because, as his neighbor, he believed that renovations by Shevchenko to his private library had caused damage of $ 666,000. Shevchenko has been suffering from an oncological disease for several years. Shevchenko is married and has one daughter.
