Justin Frankel

Justin Frankel (* 1978 in Sedona , Arizona ) is one of the developers of Winamp and founder of Nullsoft as well as the inventor of the P2P network Gnutella .

Frankel founded the company Nullsoft to market his Winamp and SHOUTcast programs . In 1999, AOL bought Nullsoft for around $ 100 million. In 2004 Frankel left his company after he had published the file sharing software products Gnutella and WASTE without AOL's consent. AOL's product releases have been withdrawn on both occasions. After leaving Nullsoft, he founded his new company Cockos in the same year , which is best known for the development of the software sequencer REAPER .
