Fighter amnesty

The amnesty for acts of violence in connection with the fight against National Socialism , which was in force in Austria until the end of 1945, was referred to as a combatant amnesty .

The provisional state government under Karl Renner decided this exemption from punishment in December 1945. According to this, all crimes committed between March 5, 1933 and December 1945 should no longer be prosecuted if they occurred in the fight against National Socialism or with the intention of an independent, independent and democratic one Restore Austria.
