The Kärntner Geselligkeitsverein Edelweiß , founded in Vienna in 1891, joined the Alpenrose in 1908, but left the association with its members in March 1918 due to "disagreements". The annexation of Austria to Hitler's Germany in 1938 brought disadvantages for the association. After the end of the war, normal club operations could be resumed relatively quickly.

With Sekt.Rat. Dr. Ludwig Leuze was also appointed the founding chairman.
