Carinthian stick

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Kärntner Stock is a special form of the ice stock .

As the name suggests, it is mainly used in the Austrian state of Carinthia and differs from the ice stock in that despite its smaller diameter (approx. 20 cm) it is heavier (approx. 5.1 kg). In addition, instead of flat rubber outsoles, the Kärntner Stock uses a wooden plate in which rubber nubs of different hardness are inserted. Modern sticks also have metal and plastic running plates.
