Cologne Radyosu

Cologne Radyosu ( Turkish for "Das Kölner Radio") is a Turkish-language radio broadcast by Westdeutscher Rundfunk (WDR), which was first broadcast on November 2, 1964 . It was the first nationwide broadcast by a German broadcaster in Turkish.

The target group was initially the Turkish migrant workers who had been in Germany since 1961 . In addition to news, the program also offered help in life for them. For example, experts answer questions from listeners once a week and give general tips for migrant life in Germany.

In the Turkish immigrant circles, the term Cologne Radyosu was often used nationwide as a synonym for West German radio in the 1960s and 1970s.
