The Kölner Schrift zum Wirtschaftsrecht (KSzW) is a specialist journal in the field of commercial law that is run by young lawyers and appears quarterly on current topics.
Initiated and published by students and academic staff from the law faculty of the University of Cologne , the KSzW editorial team pursues the goal of establishing a commercial law journal that is aimed equally at students, academics and practitioners.
This concept, which was shaped by US and British law journals , is intended, among other things, to offer students a platform to look beyond regular course content, to work scientifically, to get to know the landscape of scientific publications and to combine legal thinking with commercial and organizational action.
The KSzW has a scientific advisory board made up of professors from the University of Cologne. It has been published quarterly by Otto Schmidt Verlag since January 2010 .
The group of authors of the editions is composed on the one hand of practitioners and scientists. In addition, contributions from students, academic staff and trainee teachers are also published. The KSzW is based on the concept of an expenditure-related focus. Each issue is dedicated to a different topic. As a result, current issues are examined from different perspectives.
The main topics of the previous editions were "European Company Law" (1/2010), "Legal Aspects of the Financial Crisis" (2/2010), "Distribution Law" (3/2010), "Commercial Legal Protection" (4/2010) and "Antitrust Law" (1/2011).
