Königsaue is a former village near the city of Aschersleben .

In 1751, the Neu Hargisdorf settlement was built on the site of the deserted village of Hargisdorf after the Gaterslebener See had been drained. The establishment of the place goes back to Frederick the Great . He gave settlers from the Rhineland their own land here. On July 27, 1753, the colonists' village was renamed Königsaue by cabinet order. Königsaue had to give way to open-cast lignite mining in the 1950s. Today's Neu Königsaue was built in the mid-1960s about 1,500 meters from the place of origin. The resettlement of residents began in 1959 and was completed in 1965.

The area around Königsaue was rich in traces of early Stone Age settlement.

Königsaue had about 1300 inhabitants in May 1945, and there was a larger estate, which probably belonged to the Barons of Minnigerode . This emerges from some photos and reports from members of the 113th Field Artillery Battalion of the US occupation forces after May 8, 1945.

The municipality of Königsaue was incorporated into the municipality of Schadeleben on October 7, 1967. On June 12, 1990, the community was reorganized under the name of Neu Königsaue .

Personalities
