The Königsberger Tageblatt was a tabloid newspaper that appeared from 1897 to 1945 in Königsberg (Prussia) , today's Kaliningrad . The publisher was the Hartungschen Zeitung . The edition of the Königsberger Tageblatt was up to 60,000 copies in 1930. The editor-in-chief was most recently Eduard Kenkel . Hartung's publishing house was built in 1876 on the site of the former Löbenicht town hall , where the publishing house had been based since the 18th century. Printing began in 1906 in a new building at Münchenhofplatz 45. Due to the destruction caused by the air raids on Königsberg , only three emergency editions were published after August 31, 1944.
