The Kümmelspalterei is a listed building in Heidelberg with the address Hauptstraße 117.

The house with restaurant was built in 1766. Since at least 1805 it has been a wine bar, known in 1844 as the "Alte Pfalz". The name "Kümmelspalterei" appears for the first time in 1920.

The four-storey, eaves-standing house is located roughly in the middle of Heidelberger Hauptstrasse , the most important street in Heidelberg's old town . The windows of the main floor were extended in 1910 to doors. The sgraffito relief representing the restaurant name is striking, showing a gnome splitting cumin with a neo-baroque wave gable above it. The salon of a professors' association was on the second floor. The colored glass from the 19th century shows heads, pretzels, fish etc. The top floor was added in 1898 and, unlike the floors below, has no ear windows.
