The abbreviations of the Royal Bavarian State Railways are those that are used both in the vehicle registers of the Royal Bavarian State Railways and in those of the Palatinate Railways . These abbreviations are also compiled in this form in the various car status registers on a cover sheet (see also the adjacent illustration of the original from the WV of 1913). In the following, reference is made to the individual columns of the wagon status lists in which the abbreviations explained here are located.
From 1906, the responsible directorates for the individual wagon numbers are also given. The area of the Bavarian Railways on the left bank of the Rhine ( Pfalzbahn ) is also taken into account here . It means:

Column steering axles
Various types of steering axles were used by the Bavarian State Railways, which were only replaced by the standard type of club steering axles from around 1890. In Germany z. B. all cars with a wheelbase> 4000 mm equipped with steering axles.

Column signal holder
The information on the various signal holders is summarized here. The respective abbreviation indicates either the country or the company in the country.

Column underframe
This is where the information on the various types of base frame is summarized. In other words, it is indicated which materials were used for the basic structure of the sub-frame.

Except for the "head sleepers" (buffer beams), the underframe is made of IRON. The head sills, on the other hand, are made of WOOD

the side members and other underframe parts are made of WOOD and IRON, the head sills of IRON. This may mean that the side members were made of WOOD which were planked with IRON.

The type of the respective transport class in Roman numerals. In the first line the number of compartments, below - in italics - the number of seats in the compartments.
O, M,
Identifier for use in military transports. O = officers, M = men. The first and second class seats were reserved for the officers, the other classes were assigned to the men. Only the number of seats is given.

Abortion or abortion with washing facilities

Luggage compartment for both passenger and freight wagons
