Fire and Flames ( Fire and Flames Music , Fire and Flames Riotwear ) is a left-wing and anti-fascist clothing and music label from Kiel (formerly Göttingen ) founded in 2002 . There are numerous publications on the label, mainly from the genres punk , Oi! and Ska appeared. In addition to the label, Fire and Flames operates an online shop and a retail store in Kiel and acts as an organizer of concerts.

history

Fire and Flames was founded in Boston (USA) in 2002 and then moved to Göttingen. The first release, still in the USA, was the EP " Saipan " by the band Czolgosz. In the following years bands like Jeunesse Apatride , Banda Bassotti , Obrint Pas and Brigada Flores Magon made further releases . Fire and Flames Music also brought two own samplers under the title "Hate the State" (2005) and "Hate the State Vol. 2" (2007) as well as solidarity samplers with the G8 protests in 2007 , the Alte Meierei in Kiel and the Rote Hilfe together with other labels and political groups.

In 2011 and 2012 Fire and Flames was involved in the operation of the Flaming Star shop in downtown Göttingen, which, in addition to Fire and Flames products, also offered other brands from the areas of left and alternative subcultures. In 2013, the operation of the label and shipping were temporarily suspended.

In the spring of 2014 the label moved to Kiel, where a new collective continues to operate it. In August 2014 the band Moscow Death Brigade released the LP / CD " Hoods Up " for the first time after the restart of Fire and Flames. Over 60 publications have now appeared on the label.

Own representation

In its self-portrayal, the Fire and Flames collective describes itself as " anarchists or libertarian communists " whose goal is "not just to publish good music, but good music with a message that we can support". They are "open to bands and music who feel part of the political left and can identify with our project".
