The K.Bay.Sts.B. Sheet 313 is a Bavarian freight wagon . It is a two-axle open freight car based on the sample sheet 313 for the Bavarian State Railways according to the car status register from 1913, which was originally built by the company of the royal privileged Bavarian Eastern Railway. The type of car was built in two versions, braked and unbraked.

history

Between 1870 and 1875 the cars were procured in six series with a total of 650 pieces for the Bavarian Eastern Railway. It concerned the further procurement of a type 'J' coal wagon. With the takeover of the Ostbahn by the Bavarian State Railroad in 1876, the wagons were added to the State Railways wagon fleet, were given a new numbering scheme and were assigned to the class 'F'. In addition, in 1877 another series of 100 pieces was procured from K.Bay.Sts.B ..

Constructive features

Underframe

Even in the delivery variant, the wagons had an iron base. After being taken over by the state railway, the wagons received new buffers as part of modernizing conversions in the central workshops in Regensburg and Nuremberg, so that the length of length changed from 8,110 mm to up to 8,264 mm for the braked wagons. The outer side members were U-shaped with outward flanges. The cross members were also made of U-profiles and not cranked. The wagons had screw couplings with safety brackets as a towing device. The drawbar was spring-loaded throughout and in the middle. The original design of the wagons had rod buffers with an installation length of 550 mm. These have been replaced by those with an installation length of 612 mm. In the sketch according to sheet 313 from the car register from 1913, a buffer with an installation length of 650 mm is shown for the braked design on the brakeman's cab. The buffer plates had a diameter of 370 mm.

With the braked cars, the car body was shortened by 400 mm on one side for the brakeman's platform. This protruded over the buffer at the height of the brakeman's cab.

drive

The wagons had half-timbered axle brackets of the short, straight design that were forged from flat iron. The axles were stored in split sliding axle bearings of Bavarian design. The wheels had type 38 spoked wheel bodies with a wheel diameter of 1027 mm. The suspension consisted of six 1109 mm long spring bars with a cross section of 96 x 13 mm.

With the cars in the braked version, the wheels were braked on both sides. The brake linkage had central lever in the Bavarian design.

Car body

The side walls of the cars consisted of 4 mm thick sheet metal with external profile iron as reinforcement. In the unbraked car, all side walls of the car body could be cordoned off. In some wagons, the side and end walls could only be removed with the help of tools. The frame of the car walls consisted of U and flat profiles. The floor of the hold was 40 mm thick.

The loading openings on both sides had two-winged, outward-opening sheet metal doors with iron reinforcements and a clear loading width of 1,500 mm. The side walls of all cars were 800 mm high.

The brakeman's cab on the braked cars stood on the right side of the brakeman's platform and protruded over the threshold. The brakeman's cab was open and accessible from the left, the hand-spindle brake was attached almost in the middle of the front wall.
