Theodor Leberecht Steingräber (born January 25, 1830 in Neustadt an der Orla , † April 5, 1904 in Leipzig ) was a German music publisher .
Life
Steingräber, son of the piano maker Johann Gottlieb Steingräber (1800–1861), wrote a piano school for his daughters Clara and Mathilde, which he published in Leipzig in 1868 under the pseudonym Gustav Damm. This textbook was so successful that Steingräber himself founded his own music publisher in Hanover on January 1, 1878 , the Steingräber-Verlag . In 1890 he moved the company headquarters to Leipzig, the German center of publishing.
He published works by composers such as Richard Strauss and Ermanno Wolf-Ferrari , among others . After Steingräber's death in 1904, his two daughters became partners in the publishing house.
