KIRO-FM is a news talk information radio station based in Seattle , Washington . The station ranks first in the “marketplace ranking” ( Arbitron ) for the Seattle area. The station is part of the CBS Radio Network. The transmitters are on Tiger Mountain near Issaquah, while the studios are in Seattle's Eastlake District. KIRO-FM broadcasts on HD radio.

The station started in 1948 from the VHF spin-off of the old radio station KIRO from Seattle. KIRO-FM is now owned by Bonneville International Corporation, the commercial radio operator of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church).
