KLMN

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

KLMN is a television station in Great Falls (Montana) , the locally on channel 26 as a subsidiary of Fox sends. It went into operation on December 19, 2000 and is owned by Equity Media Holdings .

history

KLMN began the program in early 2001 as a subsidiary of Fox Broadcasting Company , and other UPN programs . The purchase of a low power repeater station from the Helena -based NBC subsidiary KTVH in the Great Falls area in 2005 shook many subsidiaries. NBC, previously a subsidiary of KTGF , suddenly became a Fox subsidiary, while KLMN was left with only the UPN programs. KLMN became a subsidiary of MyNetworkTV in September 2006 . In May of 2007, Fox's programs suddenly returned to KLMN after nearly 2 years with KTGF, which coincidentally happened when KGTV's parent company, Destiny Communications , entered into a joint sales agreement with KLMN.

The KLMN callsign was once used by the company now located as KFTA-TV in Fort Smith, Arkansas .

Digital television

Because the station a construction licensing was issued after the FCC the DTV allotment plan was completed on 21 April 1997, the station no partner for a digital television station had. Instead, KLMN will be obliged to switch off the analog signal and switch on the digital signal instead on February 17, 2009 or earlier (February 17 is the end of the conversion period for television stations in continuous use) . (This is also known as a " flash cut ").
