The KP-SAM , called Shin-Gung (divine bow), is a modern shoulder-supported short-range surface to air missile system (MANPADS) from South Korean production . After eight years of development, the system was handed over to the South Korean army in 2005 , which had ordered around 2,000 units.
technology
The system is operated by a soldier. It consists of a launcher and a tripod with a seat. The system is similar to the French Mistral anti-aircraft system . The missile has ECCM capabilities and is therefore able to detect and ignore enemy decoys . In flight tests, a percentage hit rate of 90% was achieved.
