Pingdu

Pingdu ( Chinese 平度 市 , Pinyin Píngdù Shì ) is an independent city in Shandong Province in the east of the People's Republic of China , it belongs to the administrative area of the independent city of Qingdao . Pingdu has an area of 3166 km² and a population of 1,357,400 (end of 2010).
The site of the ancient city of Jimo (Jimo gucheng yizhi 即墨 故城 遗址) and the Dongyueshi site (Dongyueshi yizhi 东岳 石 遗址) of the Yueshi culture have been on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China since 2001 and 2006, respectively .
