Dongyueshi

Dongyueshi ( Chinese  东岳石遗址 , Pinyin Dōngyuèshí yízhǐ , English Dongyueshi site ) is a Neolithic site in the southeast of the village Dongyueshi (Ch. Dongyueshicun) the greater community Dazeshan大泽山镇the independent city Pingdu (平度市) of the prefecture-level city Qingdao in Shandong Province in the east of the People's Republic of China . It is dated from 1900 to 1600 BC. Dated.

Yueshi culture

It is a site of the Yueshi culture , which followed the Shandong Longshan culture (see Longshan culture ). Artifacts made from bones, shells, and pottery have been unearthed. The culture was created by the Dongyi (Dōngyí 东夷Eastern Yi ) and provides important information for researching the Longshan culture and the history of the Xia and Shang dynasties .

Digs

The site was first excavated in 1960. A second excavation took place in 1993, jointly carried out by the Archaeological Institute of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences , the Qingdao Cultural Assets Bureau, and the Pingdu Museum .

List of monuments

The Dongyueshi site ( Dongyueshi yizhi ) has been on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China since 2006 (Resolution 6-109).
