Heimtali manor house

The manor of Heimtali originally belonged to the Order Castle of Karksi . It was first mentioned in 1528 under the name Linsen. Later the place was called Kurwitz and Agende. In 1793, the owner of the estate, the Baltic German nobleman Peter Reinhold von Sivers, renamed the place Heimtali after his love, Luise Heimenthal, who died early.

Today's manor ensemble with the classicist main house dates from the 19th century. There has been a school there since 1932. It is surrounded by a 37 hectare park. One of the most famous sport horse breeds in Estonia is located in an adjoining building.

The cultural history museum of the textile artist Anu Raud and the schnapps distillery in the former dairy of the manor house built in 1832 (today also conference rooms) are worth seeing in Heimtali .
