KSTP-FM or KS95 for short is an American FM radio broadcaster in the metropolitan area of ​​Minneapolis-Saint Paul , Minnesota .

The station broadcasts on the 94.5 FM frequency and belongs to the “Top 40 Radio” genre. The station is part of Hubbard Broadcasting, Inc . and is distributed via the Telefarm Towers Shoreview . In addition to these, the TV station KSTP has also been broadcast since 1999. The medium wave sister station is KSTP-AM .

history

Hubbard originally started KSTP-FM under the callsign W9XUP on the frequency 102.1 M Hz in 1947. The transmitter was shut down in 1952 and the license was canceled, but in 1965 KSTP went back on the air and continues to broadcast on the 94.5 frequency FM. Today the transmitter KEEY-FM is broadcasting on the frequency 102.1 FM. KSTP used the MOR format until 1977 before changing the format to Adult Contemporary (AC). In addition, the music direction was changed to rock music. The callsign KS95 was also used . As of April 28, 2016, the stream from KS95 can no longer be heard outside the US without a reason being given.

KSTP was also a radio network for the Minnesota Vikings from 1985 to 1987 .

One of the slogans was 80s, 90s and Today (80s, 90s and today). In 2007 KS95 used "Variety ... '80s,' 90s & Today". Since 2010, KSTP-FM has been broadcasting under the slogan changed to "90s, 2K and today."
