The KTM MSS 50 (Comet GP 50) is a small motorcycle (Mokick) from the Austrian motorcycle manufacturer KTM Motor-Fahrzeugbau (KTM), which was built from 1977 to 1980.
Model history
At that time, KTM was a manufacturer without its own engine production and built a series 501/4 BKF or 501/4 CKF engine from Sachs with a Bing carburetor and contactless Bosch magneto in the MSS . The fuel was a two-stroke mixture with a mixing ratio of 1:25 . The rear wheel was driven via a multi-plate clutch in an oil bath, a four-speed gearbox and a chain. It started with a kick starter.
The model was available with and without fairing at a new price (1978) of 2620 DM . With a speedometer, rev counter as standard, as well as die-cast magnesium wheels, stainless steel mudguards and a luggage rack with pannier holder, the machine was modernly equipped at the end of the 1970s. However, shortly after the series was discontinued, the models were hardly competitive and difficult to trade on the then flourishing second-hand market.
According to the operating license, the moped is approved for speeds of up to 45 km / h and can be driven with an AM driver's license and a small license plate.
