KTM unit

KTM unit

The KTM Unit from the Austrian motorcycle manufacturer KTM was presented as a prototype at IFMA 1996 in Cologne.

In contrast to the Duke , the unit had been developed as a completely independent machine which, apart from the LC4 engine, had practically no parts of the off-road models.

The design was still more likely to be attributed to the "old" KTM design, but already had some details of the later models, for example headlights ( Duke II ), triangular cooling air openings and the later "corporate color" orange.

Despite great public acceptance, the risk of an independent road machine seemed too great for KTM, which is why the unit was never built in series.
