Krapje concentration camp

The concentration camp Krapje ( Serbo-Croatian Koncentracioni Logor Krapje , Концентрациони Логор Крапје or Logor Krapje called Логор Крапје), also known as Camp I of the Jasenovac concentration camp or as Jasenovac camp no. 1 known was the Independent State of Croatia (NDH) one of the Fascist Ustasha operated concentration camp and belonged to the camp complex of the Jasenovac concentration camp, which consisted of five camps. It was built during World War II in what is now the Croatian village of Krapje , which is about twelve kilometers west of Jasenovac . In addition to camp I, there was camp II in Bročice , camp III called Ciglana , camp IV called Kožara and the Stara Gradiška concentration camp , also known as camp V. Camps I and II were probably set up at the same time, and in August 1941 the first prisoners were taken, mainly Serbs and Jews . The commanders of the two camps were Ante Marić and Ivan Ranko .
