KAEFER Isolation Technology , headquartered in Bremen, is a provider of isolation and access technology and interior finishing services. Founder Carl Kaefer started the company's history in 1918 as a peat trader. At that time, cold rooms were insulated with peat . In the period that followed, Kaefer developed not only insulation solutions, but also the areas of access technology, surface protection, passive fire protection and refractory construction as well as interior fittings for industry, marine & offshore and construction. According to the consulting firm Lünendonk & Hossenfelder , Kaefer Isolation Technology was one of the eight leading industrial service companies in Germany in 2019.
