Kahoku Shimpō ( Japanese 河北 新 報 ) is a general daily newspaper in Japan .

The first edition appeared in 1897, today the circulation is 505,000 copies (morning edition in 2005). It appears in Sendai , the newspaper's headquarters, and the surrounding area, as a set with morning and evening editions, while the rest of the publication area only appears as a morning edition. The main area of ​​the newspaper are the prefectures of Miyagi , Yamagata and Iwate . However, it can be purchased in the entire Tōhoku area .
