KK Kairosoft ( Japanese 株式会社 カ イ ロ ソ フ ト , Kabushiki kaisha Kairosofuto ) is a Japanese game manufacturer that was founded in 1996 in the capital Tokyo . Kairosoft is known for its simulation games, with which the company has had great success in Japan and the United States . They mainly produce for iOS and Android as well as for the computer. In 2012 the company was ranked 30th in the top 50 game developers of the year by the US Internet site Pocket Gamer.

The company with just nine employees landed its first big hit with Game Dev Story . The games magazine and website Pocket Gamer speaks of a very special genre of simulation games.
