Kaithady ( Tamil கைதடி, Kaitaṭa , Sinhala කයිතඩි, Kayaitaḍai ) is a suburb of the city of Jaffna in the district of Jaffna of the Northern Province in Sri Lanka with a population of nearly 10,000 people. There are more than five elementary schools and three secondary schools. Founded in 1955, The Nuffield School , School for the Deaf and Blind, is the oldest and largest educational institute for Tamil language disabled people. Kaithady is the seat of the Kaithadi Ayurveda University . The Salvation Army has been involved in the town for prisoners since 1973.
