The Kaldbaksvík in Strandir is a bay on the east side of the Westfjords in Iceland .
Strandavegur, road 643 circles the bay. A house there was built in 1940 from the wood of an older house. It was abandoned in 1967 and, like another, now only serves as a summer house. The valley by the bay is at great risk from avalanches . The Kaldbakshorn mountain rises to 508 m. Further in the valley north on Mount Hveratunga there are hot springs of up to 72 ° C.
