Lisa von Isenburg

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Lisa von Isenburg († 1323 ) was abbess at Freckenhorst Abbey .

Life

Lisa von Isenburg came from the noble family von Isenburg , which was named after the former Isenburg Castle near Neuwied . She was a daughter of Count Gerlach von Isenburg-Arenfels and Elisabeth von Kleve . The Abbess Mechtild von Isenburg from Nottuln did not belong to her family branch. Her brother Gerlach was provost in the collegiate church Münstermaifeld . Lisa was probably introduced to office immediately after the death of her predecessor Beatrix in October 1303. Numerous documents in which legal transactions (purchases and gifts) were sealed have been preserved from her tenure. Lisa stayed in office until her death. Her successor as abbess was Lisa von Bentheim .
