Lisa von Bentheim († 1329 ) was the abbess of Freckenhorst Abbey .
Life
Origin and family
Lisa von Bentheim was born as the daughter of Count Egbert I von Bentheim (son of Otto von Bentheim-Tecklenburg ) and his wife Hedwig von Oldenburg and grew up with her eleven siblings - later all of them worked in church offices - in an ancient noble family . Her sister Oda was abbess in Metelen Abbey and her aunt Gertrudis was abbess in Nottuln .
Career and work
As abbess of Freckenhorst Abbey and successor to Lisa von Isenburg , Lisa was first documented on July 7, 1324 when it came to settling a dispute with the Kentrop monastery . She remained in office until 1327; Katharina von Frankenstein followed her two years later as abbess.
