The Shuhman Glacier is a 10 km long glacier on the Ruppert coast of Marie Byrd Land in western Antarctica . It flows north of the Strauss Glacier and flows into the Southern Ocean .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 2003 after Christopher A. Shuman from the University of Maryland , who had studied the ice currents of the West Antarctic Ice Sheet in theory and practice from the 1990s .
