Kamagasaki

Kamagasaki ( Japanese釜 ヶ 崎) is the unofficial but very common name of the Airin area (あ い り ん 地区Airin Chiku ) in Osaka . The quarter is mostly inhabited by day laborers , the homeless and the poor.

The social problems in Kamagasaki lead to regular demonstrations and riots especially in the context of the closure of the social medical facility "Airin center".
