Clamping force measurement

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Locking systems operated by external power such as doors in buses and trains , motor vehicle windows, protective devices on machines etc. can cause injuries to persons if they are incorrectly set . To avoid this, there are legal regulations that define measurement methods and limit values. These measurements are called clamping force measurement , the measuring devices used are clamping force measuring devices .

Clamping force measuring devices

Electronic clamping force measuring devices class 1

The class 1 device is an electronic system for measuring and evaluating the closing force on bus and train doors and is required by law in Germany for type testing of automatically opening and closing doors on passenger vehicles. It is also recommended to use the mandatory annual test of such vehicles when there is a high number of tests (e.g. urban transport companies, larger bus companies, etc.).

Users are therefore manufacturers of automatic doors, bus bodies and operators of buses, trains and trains.

The following standards can be tested with class 1 devices: § 35e Paragraph 5 StVZO (bus doors) - 2001/85 / EG (bus doors) - prEN 14752 (train doors).

Mechanical clamping force measuring devices class 2

Mechanical test devices with accuracy class 2 are sufficient for the annual inspection in maintenance workshops with a smaller test volume.

Both the electronic and the mechanical test devices must be calibrated at regular intervals (prescribed by law and by the manufacturer) in an authorized company (checked with calibrated measuring equipment for compliance with the permissible tolerance limits).

Device type 1

The closing force measuring device 1 (SKM-1) is an electronic system in accuracy class 1 for measuring and evaluating the closing force on doors and gates. It consists of the hand-held, calibrated sensor (available for different measuring ranges) in the form required by law with a cable connection to the PC (e.g. via USB) and the associated measuring and archiving software (Windows program with graphics output) and comes with a manual and storage case offered. The software is offered in different languages. In the prescribed test sequence, the data are graphically displayed on-line on the PC, then stored in a tamper-proof manner in the PC with additional information regarding the test carried out and, if necessary, printed out as a protocol.

Mechanical devices type 2

The clamping force measuring device 2 (SKM-2) is a mechanical device in accuracy class 2, which displays the peak value of the measurement to be recorded. This is sufficient to carry out the legally prescribed SP test of power-operated doors on vehicles that transport people.
