A chamber profession is a free profession for which particularly strict professional and professional access regulations apply.

Candidates have to prove the extensive specialist knowledge required to practice their profession and their personal suitability, usually in particularly demanding, lengthy exams. Admission to such an examination is often tied to high requirements.

For members of the chamber professions, in addition to the particularities of professional and professional law, there are usually special regulations in the area of ​​social insurance, income tax and sales tax.

The access regulated by professional law is intended to ensure that prospective professionals are sufficiently qualified personally and professionally and can conscientiously practice their profession according to certain quality standards. The access regulations thus ensure, for example, medical care, the administration of justice or tax advice at the high level that the legislature considers necessary.

Some chamber professions are assigned a regulatory significance. In this respect, they complement the state authorities in their tasks. These include in particular lawyers, notaries, tax advisors, auditors or publicly appointed experts.

With admission to a chamber profession , membership in a professional chamber is compulsory . It is a corporation , the most public law again mostly here and state law is organized and functions of the professional self-government (z.
