The Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (abbreviation: CND; . Engl . "Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament") was at the forefront of the peace movement in the United Kingdom and raises the claim to be Europe's largest "Just Peace Movement". The organization is headed by an elected chairwoman, Kate Hudson until 2010 and Dave Webb since then.

Just as they are against military actions that end with the use of nuclear, chemical or biological weapons, the campaign supports the nuclear disarmament of all states and stricter international regulation through international treaties such as the Non-Proliferation Treaty . They are also against building new nuclear power plants in the UK. Their famous annual march is held every Easter between Trafalgar Square in London and the Atomic Weapons Establishment near Aldermaston .

The first of these marches, the Aldermaston March at Easter (April 4th to 7th) 1958, became the model for such “ Easter marches ” in various Western European countries. The name logo, which became a popular symbol of peace , was accepted in the editorial offices of Peace News magazine in 1958 by the Direct Action Committee Against Nuclear War, which organized the first march. It was designed by the graphic designer Gerald Holtom . According to Holtom, the graphic element in the circle should represent a synthesis of the characters of the international winker alphabet for the letters N and D.
