The Kampenwandbahn is a small cabin two- cable gondola built in 1957 . It leads from the valley station in Aschau im Chiemgau , district Hohenaschau, to 1,461  m above sea level. NHN high mountain station on the Kampenwand and back. In the immediate vicinity of the mountain station are the Möslarnalm and Sonnenalm.

The gondola lift covers the inclined length of 2480 m in around 14 minutes, with a difference in altitude of 841 m. The high plateau on which the mountain station of the mountain railway is located is around 200 m below the actual summit of the Kampenwand . The valley station is at 620 m and also serves as a tensioning and drive station. The 4-seater gondolas can transport up to 300 people per hour.
