The fight over the Nasib border crossing is a conflict in the Syrian civil war over the strategically important Nasib border crossing.

The Nasib border crossing is located on a motorway between Damascus and the Jordanian capital Amman . During the civil war it gained strategic importance for Syria , as it was used to conduct trade with the states of the Arabian Peninsula .

Conquest by the rebels

Since 2012 there has been repeated fighting between the Free Syrian Army and the Syrian Army in the area around the border crossing . The divided opposition groups came together in 2015 under the leadership of the Support Front for the Levantic People. Jordan then closed the border crossing in response to the rebel offensive. At the beginning of April 2015, the Shabiha militias loyal to the government left the border crossing to the rebels.
