Kanatea is an island in central Tongatapu in the Pacific . Politically, it belongs to the Kingdom of Tonga .

The motu is located in the center of the archipelago in the central lagoon of Tongatapu between Fanga O Pilolevu and Nukuhetulu .
climate
The climate is tropical hot, but is tempered by constantly blowing winds. Like the other islands in the Tongatapu group, Kanatea is occasionally hit by cyclones .
