Kane is a Franco-Belgian comic published in 1988 .

Kane is sitting in a saloon when a stranger offers him a half-naked squaw in exchange for his Winchester. Since he refuses, an argument ensues in which the stranger finds death. The mute Indian now runs after him, which compels him to save her from dying of thirst and from a hike of settlers. Through some Indians, Kane learns that she is the kidnapped wife of Chief Cavaro. He is caught by the chief, left tied up in the desert and bitten by a rattlesnake. Now the young Indian woman saves his life by cutting off his poisoned forearm. Having regained his strength, he frees the squaw and rides away with her.

The graphic artist Celâl Kandemiroğlu , who signed the work under his first name Celâl, wrote and drew his first album-length comic with this western . The 46-page story was published by Vents d'Ouest in 1988 under the title La mort à mains nues . A German translation appeared under the episode title Der einarmige player at Feest. Problems with the editor prevented a continuation.
